The GSSB offers a variety of educational opportunities. They range from bi-annual beginning level genealogy classes to a range of specialized programs, how-to workshops, and advanced studies and seminars.
The society also notifies members through it's publications of upcoming non-GSSB training, workshops, seminars, webinars and other learning opportunities that may be of interest to them.
For those new to genealogy, we conduct a Basic Genealogy Course. This course is designed to introduce the students to the process used in performing genealogical research and to present some of the many valuable research tools available.
This course is taught twice a year, normally starting on the first Wednesday in January and the first Wednesday after Labor day. Both classes are held at the Melbourne Public Library on Fee Ave.
The January course is held during the day and starts at 1:30pm.
The September course is held in the evening starting at 6:00pm.
COST: $35 Includes one-year membership in The Genealogical Society of South Brevard and all class materials.
(Current members pay $10, or $35 including membership extension for one year.)
